Fresh Start Private's Treatment Philosophy
At Fresh Start Private (FSP) we have created an innovative alcohol treatment program that empowers patients to succeed where other programs have failed*. There are several key components to our unique treatment philosophy that differentiate us from other programs and provide our patients with a Fresh Start at life.
Medical Intervention
Our experience has taught us that it is essential to first significantly reduce a patient’s cravings for alcohol in order to allow them to successfully recover from alcohol addiction. While patient counseling is a key component of any treatment program, it is often not enough on its own to help a person stop drinking. That is why we have built our program around a state-of-the-art, minimally invasive, biodegradable implant of naltrexone. As an oral tablet, or through an intramuscular injection, naltrexone is an FDA-approved pharmaceutical for the treatment of alcoholism.
Once implanted, our unique formulation dramatically curbs alcohol cravings within hours, and continues to deliver target therapeutic levels of naltrexone to patients for an average of approximately 200 days and up to as many as 390 days**. By eliminating the need to take or administer medication on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, the implant ensures that the patient is receiving his/her medication without any chance of interruption. During the extended implant treatment period (more than six months) a patient’s desire to consume alcohol is significantly reduced, allowing the individual to address the behaviors that contribute to their disease, and begin to develop a new life plan free from the burden of alcohol.
Single Focus on Treatment of Alcohol Addiction
Many treatment programs are marketed as cure-alls for multiple types of addiction including alcohol and various types of drugs. In our experience, alcoholism is different from other addictions and should be treated as such. For this reason, we have specifically designed our program exclusively for the treatment of alcohol addiction. By focusing narrowly on alcoholism, we are able to tailor our program to those issues and problems that are unique to alcoholics.
Comprehensive Approach to Treatment
Alcoholism is a complex disease of the body, mind and spirit. In order to properly address this addiction, a treatment program must specifically target and treat each of these areas. Programs that do not address the physiological causes of the disease, such as physical cravings for alcohol, do not provide the patient with the best chance for recovery. Likewise, a program that reduces physical cravings but fails to provide a patient with the tools to build and maintain a future without alcohol also falls short. At FSP we have created a comprehensive recovery program that includes state-of-the-art medical intervention, individually tailored Fresh Start Coaching Program sessions, rebuilding of family and friend connections and post-treatment continuing care. Only through a comprehensive treatment solution can a patient have his/her best chance at recovery.
Focus on Family and Friends
No group is more important to a patient’s recovery or more affected by his/her disease than the patient’s family and friends. Without the strong support and love of these individuals, a patient’s recovery from alcoholism is incredibly difficult. Furthermore, in nearly every case of alcoholism, there is a critical need to repair damaged relationships with those closest to the patient. Based on these facts, we have made family and friends an essential part of the patient’s recovery, having them play an important role during both the initial treatment stage, as well as the patient’s long-term recovery. This provides a support system for the patient while allowing family and friends to celebrate the freedom of his/her newfound sobriety.
