Dr George O'Neil is an addiction specialist who has been treating patients battling alcoholism and drug addiction for more than a decade. Formally trained as a gynecologist and an obstetrician, he became interested in the field of addiction after continuously delivering infants from mothers struggling with addictions. These experiences led him to invent and develop his proprietary naltrexone implant** as a tool for assisting patients recover from their addictions and reclaim their lives. The implant, which significantly reduces a patient's craving for alcohol for an average of approximately 200 days and up to as many as 390 days**, has played a critical role in the recovery of many alcoholics treated by Dr. O'Neil. In addition to the implant, Dr O'Neil also often provides housing for short term recovery of patients who have no family support structure. His dedication to assisting individuals in their recovery from addiction and providing them with an opportunity at a fresh start has earned Dr. O'Neil countless honors including being named a finalist for Australian of the Year in 2004.
