There are several types of Alcoholism statistics available which is very surprising. According to NIAA there are 5 types of alcoholics out of which the biggest group is of young adults.
The next type the young antisocial alcoholics. This group is comprised of all the people who are between the ages of 25 to 29 who started drinking at their young age. Many of them have people in their family who drink. A majority of these people are suffering from several types of depression and other tensions.
The next category is of the functional alcoholics out of them many smoke as well and are of middle age group. Around 95% of the alcoholics are intermediate and other 9.09% are considered as chronic.
There are 3.9 million women are exposed to drinking and 9.8 million men are exposed to drinking .43% of the total adults are open for drinking and around 8 million children who are under the age of 18 are addicted because their mother or father are alcoholic.
Around millions of people lost their lives due to alcohol and 1/3rd of them die due to accidents. Many commit suicide and few of them become prey to depression and die. More then half them are suffering from health related problems that make them fail to perform even normal actions.
The changes are done to update the records of the Alcoholism statistics so that people can get the updated knowledge time to time to stay way from alcohol and help others to stay away from alcohol to save their lives.
