Men and women can usually consume a drink a day without adverse health effects on their body because this amount is considered as negligible for them. The topic of given debate is can alcoholics pass their disease on to their next generation? Many people are pointing to yes but not in the typical fashion, others are saying only no. With a "typical" disease can contribute to our genes similarly as when we are more vulnerable to diseases such as cancer etc. However there is no science that can prove this.
Some of the personality traits can be inherited from one genetic make up to next, which could make our kids more sensitive to be in this line. Studies showed these characteristics are usually inherited, but not fully.
So it can not be considered genetically inheritable, alcoholism can pass from one generation to the next, the condition is the influence of the environment should be there.
If you are an alcoholic then you are growing an alcoholic that can again produce a child of an alcoholic, the reason behinds you are creating environment for this. It is possible even you are living with an alcoholic. If you think about it, this makes a lot of alcohol health effects. You grow up watching your parents an addict of alcohol, their behavior and it tends to be learned by you to do same. You become a part of this environment soon.
So a stressful situation will be there to have a drink.
