Fresh Start Private's (FSP's) alcohol treatment program* is largely based on the expertise and successful track-records of three highly-regarded leaders in their fields: Dr. George O'Neil, inventor of the O'Neil Naltrexone Implant and addiction treatment specialist; and, Dr. Edward Gifford and Mrs. Angela Gifford, founders of the On-Purpose® Fresh Start Coaching Program and On-Purpose Life Academy.

George O'Neil, M.D., MBBS, MRCOG, FRACO, Dip. Diagnostic Ultrasound

Dr George O'Neil is an addiction specialist who has been treating patients battling alcoholism and drug addiction for more than a decade. Formally trained as a gynecologist and an obstetrician, he became interested in the field of addiction after continuously delivering infants from mothers struggling with addictions. These experiences led him to invent and develop his proprietary naltrexone implant** as a tool for assisting patients recover from their addictions and reclaim their lives. The implant, which significantly reduces a patient’s craving for alcohol for an average of approximately 200 days and up to as many as 390 days***, has played a critical role in the recovery of many alcoholics treated by Dr. O’Neil. In addition to the implant, Dr O'Neil also often provides housing for short term recovery of patients who have no family support structure. His dedication to assisting individuals in their recovery from addiction and providing them with an opportunity at a fresh start has earned Dr. O'Neil countless honors including being named a finalist for Australian of the Year in 2004.

Dr. O'Neil has personally trained the entire team of physicians and therapists working with FSP.

Edward Gifford, Ph.D., M.Ed., M.A., B.A., Dip. Ed and Angela Gifford, M.Ed., B.A., Dip. Ed

Dr. Edward Gifford and Mrs. Angela Gifford are the co-founders of the On-Purpose® Life Academy and are recognized industry leaders in mentorship and life strategy coaching. Together they bring over 70 years of experience in teaching, coaching, training and mentoring to the Fresh Start Private program. It is through their expertise in these areas and their deep knowledge of the work of Kevin W. McCarthy that they have tailored The On-Purpose® Fresh Start Coaching Program specifically for patients battling alcohol addiction.

Dr Gifford is also an experienced public speaker in the areas of inspiring, educating and implementing purpose in personal life and business. Angela Gifford focuses on one-on-one coaching, mentoring and pastoral care. Together they have considerable experience and expertise in coaching, speaking, writing and training.

In addition, FSP works with a team of leading physicians and professionals personally trained by Drs. O'Neil and Gifford. These individuals play critical roles in each patient’s recovery program at FSP, from performing the naltrexone implant procedure to personally conducting On Purpose® Program sessions.
